Canon law

The Roman Catholic Church regulates its internal legal relationships (in particular nullity of marriages, church labour law, association law, foundation law, administrative law, etc.) through its own law, the so-called canon law, as well as its own jurisdiction. This affects church members as well as church employees. If the relationship between church and state or the relationship of the citizen to the church is affected, additional agreements under state church law between church and state come into effect.

To be able to advise on canon law and to represent before the church courts, the lawyer must have completed a special training in accordance with canon law. The lectures on canon law offered by universities during studies to become a state lawyer are neither recognised nor sufficient for this purpose. Attorney at law Cornelia Arnold has completed further education in canon law / Catholic canon law and can advise and represent you competently in matters of canon law due to her education and experience.
